Waterlooville has a long term development plan, the full version of which can be found on our ECB Play Cricket Website. Alternatively David Hillman can provide you with a hard copy.

The full plan is structured to comply with the Clubmark Certification requirements and is not very user friendly.

Summarized below are the key elements of the Plan.

  1. Enhance our playing and general membership both in terms of numbers and playing strength.
    • Increase colt membership at each age group and improve local participation in cricket through building better bridges with both local schools and the wider community.
    • Work to improve club support structure with more qualified coaches, umpires and a groundsman.
    • Develop a customized club website to make us more visible and enhance opportunities for greater sponsorship.
    • Explore opportunities for partnership with our local sports clubs to better utilize club resources and attract more members.
  2. Improve club ground and clubhouse facilities.
    • New artificial wicket already installed and clubhouse refurbishment achieved.
    • We have project to install permanent fully caged practice nets and are currently working on funding and planning permission.
    • Working with Havant Council to improve ground maintenance through greater club participation.
  3. Achieve Southern League status and accreditation.
    • Bronze level accreditation achieved in 2010. We are looking to achieve silver by 2012.
