Williams Feasts As 1s & 2s Win

The recent weekend games saw wins for both Waterlooville 1st and 2nd XIs.

Making the journey to Totton & Eling the first team found overseas import Sam Williams in a particularly devastating mood.  He smashed his way to 190 (a club record I assume!); the 1s amassed an impressive 358 with useful contributions from Jackson (44) and Mengham (31).  In reply Totton could only muster 163ao with Durrant, Cook and Shephard all contributing well.  Another resounding win that cements their position at the top of the table and makes them the side to beat in Division 3.

The 2nd XI entertained Compton and made 184 after batting first, Archie Reynolds impressing with 62.  Compton were then dispatched for 124 with Reynolds and Verma the chief tormentors with 3 wickets apiece.

The 3rds went down in a hard fought battle with Burridge, after making 187 (Gedge 71*) they couldn't rein in the home side and eventually fell to a four wicket defeat.

This weekend sees the 1st XI return to Rowlands Avenue as they entertain Alton; the 2nd team make the journey to Emsworth for what promises to be a tough encounter and the 3s will be looking to find some form at home to Locks Heath.
